History

The Adams Lake Indian Band approved the establishment of the Village in 1968 by approving a designation of the lands on which the Village is located. A designation is the formal process by which Band members approve leasing of reserve lands. A head lease (the “Original Head Lease”) was put in place and approximately 33 lots were leased under long term prepaid leases. The Original Subleases restricted ownership to adults over the age of 55 years.

In 2008, the Band approved a new designation which would allow leasing on terms for CMHC insure mortgages for Phase 1 and Phase 2.
